DPAC and DLC Condemn House Passage of “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”
July 3, 2025
The Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition (DPAC) and the Diabetes Leadership Council (DLC)condemn the House of Representatives’ final passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which now moves to President Trump’s desk despite overwhelming concern from the public, including patient advocates across the country. With this vote, Congress has chosen to prioritize politics, maintaining an arbitrary deadline over taking the time to reach productive compromise.
This legislation will add trillions to the federal debt while kicking 17 million Americans off of their health insurance and threatening hospital closures across the country, as has been acknowledged by many who ultimately chose to vote for the bill. This isn’t fiscal responsibility—it’s a failure of moral leadership.
To our community, which depends on coverage for lifesaving and life-sustaining therapy and care: We stand with you. This fight is not over. We will:
- Expose the harm caused by these cuts through data, stories, and relentless advocacy
- Arm you with resources to navigate these new barriers and maintain your healthcare
- Hold lawmakers accountable for prioritizing politics over people
Our promise remains unchanged: We will never stop fighting for affordable, accessible care for allAmericans living with diabetes.
The advocacy community is watching and the long-term impacts will be clear to judge. We will not backdown.
